Police in Bomet County are in custody of a 21-year-old man who hacked his wife to death for allegedly flirting with male friends on her Facebook account.
The suspect, Ismael Kingeno Langat, is said to have attacked his wife of 25 years with a machete as she was returning home from college. The suspect claimed he sold land to fund his wife’s education and repeatedly warned her against flirtatious behavior.
According to Francis Mwei, area chief of Makimeny Location, the suspect also attempted to assassinate his father when he arrived on site to investigate the riot. Luckily, the father narrowly escaped the angry son, who wielded the machete and was out for revenge.
After committing the horrific act, the suspect voluntarily presented himself to Makimeny Police Station with the blood-stained machete.
Chepalungu Police Chief Panton Analo confirmed that the body of the deceased was transferred to the mortuary of Longisa Reference Hospital.
Elsewhere in Dandora Phase 3 ,Nairobi, a man stabbed his wife to death on early Wednesday morning.
Following his confession to the police about the murder of his wife, Agnes Kanini, Tobias Nzola led the police officers to his residence.
Upon reaching the crime scene, the officers discovered the lifeless body, sprawled on the floor.
The deceased had suffered injuries on her neck and hands, presumably inflicted by a sharp weapon.
During their investigation, detectives came across a note written by the suspect.
The letter was addressed to their eldest child, instructing them to utilize the funds on a mobile phone for the education of their siblings.
