The Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) is inviting eligible university graduates to apply for a six-month internship programme aimed at preparing them for employment opportunities in the banking and financial sectors.
In a notice released on Tuesday CBK stated that applications are open for graduates aged between 21 and 29 years, and the deadline for submission is July 24.
Applicants must have graduated within the last 24 months from the closing date of the advertisement or be awaiting graduation.
“Applicants must provide a recommendation/reference letter from the university attended and should not have undertaken any other internship programme or been exposed to work experience related to their area of study since graduating.” CBK stated.
To be considered for the internship, individuals must hold a first degree from a recognized university in Finance, Economics, Statistics, Banking, Accounting, Micro-Finance, Management, Social Sciences, Law, or a related discipline. Alternatively, they can possess a Master’s degree in a relevant field.
CBK specified that opportunities are available in the following functions: Finance, Research, Banking and Payment Services, Human Resources, Communications, and Legal Services.
How To Apply
Interested candidates are requested to submit their applications online using the following link: https://careers.centralbank.go.ke:8443.
While qualification into the programme does not guarantee employment upon completion of the six-month internship, CBK mentioned that successful participants will be allowed to apply for any positions the Bank advertises after completing the internship.
The bank emphasized that successful applicants will be required to complete the six-month internship without taking breaks in order to fully benefit from the objectives of the programme.
The internship programme aims to develop a pool of young talent with adequate exposure to central and commercial banking operations.
Interested applicants have been warned against engaging in direct or indirect canvassing, as this will result in disqualification.
