The government is set to operationalize 20 newly created sub-counties across the country within the next three months, making it easier for citizens to access government services.
Dr. Raymond Omollo, the Principal Secretary of Internal Security and National Administration, disclosed that plans to deploy National Police Reservists (NPR) to support the police in Marsabit County’s pastoralist settlements are in an advanced stage.
Omollo stressed that people’s time and money were wasted traveling to and from government offices due to their remote locations.
“The government will operationalize the gazetted administrative units within three months, including Korr sub-county in this constituency, to enable you to access government services without any hindrance,” he said.
He was pleased with the government’s success in reducing livestock rustling and banditry and assured the public that NPR would be enlisted shortly to maintain this development.
The Ps thanked the community for their unwavering support in the fight against crime and underlined the value of harmony and goodwill among neighbors.
Omollo also emphasized the value of education, encouraging parents to send their children to school so they can secure a brighter future.
Further, he advocated for girls’ and boys’ equal access to education and urged the local administrations to prohibit archaic customs like early marriages.
