In 2020, the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) migrated its student portal and related services to a new website URL.
Previously, students had expressed dissatisfaction with the old HELB portal, accessible via the link portal.helb.co.ke, citing slow responsiveness, particularly on smaller screens.
The new HELB student portal, available at studentportal.helb.co.ke, offers improved speed, smoother performance, and greater responsiveness.
How To Register an Account on the HELB portal
- Click the register button on the student portal.
- Validate your identification card number (ID number).
- Fill in your registration details.
- Activate your account by clicking the link sent to your email.
- Log in using your newly created credentials.
- Complete your profile details.
How To log in to HELB student portal
- Visit the official HELB website (www.helb.co.ke) using your web browser.
- Navigate to the student portal section on the homepage. Alternatively, access it directly at studentportal.helb.co.ke.
- Locate the login form.
- Enter your email in the designated field.
- Input your password in the password field.
- Click the login button to proceed.
How to Reset or change HELB password
If you have forgotten your password and can still access the portal, you can reset it directly from the login screen.
- Go to the HELB student portal.
- Find the “Forgot Password” link at the bottom of the login form.
- Provide the required details and an email address to receive the password reset link.
- To update your email address or other personal information, log in and edit them in your account dashboard. Alternatively, contact HELB directly to request an update.
