Kenyan TikToker Brian Chira has faced repercussions for his cyber harassment against TikTok star Azziad Nasenya, leading to his suspension from Kabarak University.
In an interview with Andrew Kibe, Chira confirmed the university’s decision, stating that he violated the student Code of Conduct and Ethics.
“Azziad got me arrested on Thursday when the cops came to school and called the Chief Security Officer (CSO) around noon. I was summoned and told that I had been suspended from Kabarak University,” Chira alleged.
Azziad’s lawyer also acknowledged Chira’s suspension during an appearance outside the Kibera Law courts.
“The University’s rules and regulations do not allow us to discuss our students with anyone due to confidentiality. If there is any suspension, that is an internal matter. Whatever is out there, we are also not aware of what is already in the public. What we know is that he is one of our students, nothing more.” clarified Kabarak University ’s Dean of Students in regards to Brian Chira Suspension
The University is committed to a set of fundamental values, including integrity, excellence, professionalism, innovation, creativity, service, and mindfulness.
Following the arrest, Chira was charged at the Kibera Law Courts and subsequently released on a Sh50,000 cash bail, which he raised through a TikTok live session shortly after.
Last week’s incident involved Chira making defamatory accusations against Azziad, which prompted her to take legal action against him for defamation and brand damage.
Chira’s offensive remarks and disclosure of Azziad’s phone number on social media caused distress as strangers began abusing her through calls.
