The Kipsigis Girls High School is in a mourning state following the passing of their deputy principal, Sylvia Ng’etich.
Ng’etich fell critically ill under mysterious circumstances and tragically succumbed while being urgently transferred to the hospital.
Confirming the somber news, the school secretary said, ” The sad news is true. She was ill at home, but it is not in my place to give much detail about it. The principal will be able to disseminate more when she is back. At the moment the KCSE examinations are underway”
Kericho East OCPD Peter Mutuma verified the incident, stating that the school’s principal, Christine Chumba, had alerted the police.
Chumba disclosed that the 45-year-old deputy was discovered unconscious at 8:00 am on Thursday, November 9, in her bedroom. Subsequently, she was swiftly taken to Siloam Private Hospital, where she was pronounced dead upon arrival.

Chumba declined to comment on the incident, even as the police and the Directorate of Criminal Investigation launched investigations into the Kipsigis Girls Deputy Principal ‘s death.
