The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) has issued an apology for the delay in accessing the results of the 2023 Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) exams.
In an official statement, the examinations council acknowledged the delay and assured the public that their technical team was actively working to resolve the issue.
KNEC pledged to provide updates to the public once the shortcode for accessing the results becomes available.
“Greetings, we apologise for the delay in accessing KCPE 2023 results. We will update you once they are available on 40054,” the message read.
The Ministry of Education also addressed the situation, stating that they are actively working to rectify the issue with the SMS code for KCPE 2023 results.
This concern arose when learners and parents attempted to access the results on Thursday but encountered difficulties.
The Education Ministry assured the public that their IT team is diligently working to resolve the issue.
Usually, after the announcement of KCPE/KCSE results, parents access their children’s results promptly through an SMS code or the KNEC website. However, this year, some parents received messages stating that the KCPE 2023 results are not currently available, with a suggestion to try again later after the official announcement.
During the release of the exams candidates, parents, and guardians were told to access the results through various channels, including the KNEC website, SMS platforms, county education offices, and the candidates’ respective schools.
For the SMS option, candidates were instructed to send their index number, followed by the initials “KCPE” (in capital letters) to 40054 to access the results.
The SMS service, which available for all mobile networks and will incur a charge of Sh25 per message.
