The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) has issued a notice regarding the verification of photo and subject entries uploaded for the registration of the 2023 KCSE examination.
On 5th July 2023, the commission’s CEO David Njeng’ere sent a notice to Sub-county education directors, stating that Centre Managers who registered candidates for the 2023 KCSE examination should access the photograph registers from the registration portal.
The Centre Managers must download the photograph registers (albums) from the registration portal and print them in color.
The candidates are required to verify that the photographs are correctly assigned to their names, sign against their photographs, and confirm their subject entries.
“All cases of subject amendments, photo mismatch and missing photos should be officially communicated to the CEO, KNEC accompanied by the correct photographs, saved in a Computer Disk (CD) correctly labeled, by 15th August, 2023.” Reads part of the notice.
The Centre Managers should ensure that any cases of blurred and/or horizontally misaligned photographs are corrected.
The corrected photographs should then be saved in a Computer Disk (CD) and submitted to KNEC along with an accompanying letter.
The deadline for submission is 15th August.
Any changes that need to be made after the submission deadline will incur a penalty of Kes. 500.00 per candidate.
The penalty must be remitted to KNEC in order for the requested amendments to be implemented.
The school principals are advised to securely keep the signed photograph registers (albums) that are free from errors.
The registers should be handed over to the Supervisor for use during the administration of the 2023 KCSE examination.
