The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has availed 30 Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) courses on it’s portal for students to make applications.
According to a notice issued by the agency on Saturday , July 22,2023 announced that both diploma and certificate courses are available at the medical training college
“The programmes, which are at diploma and certificate levels, include community health nursing, mental health and psychiatry, midwifery, radiography and imaging, medical laboratory sciences, occupational therapy, optometry, pharmacy, physiotherapy and public health, among others.” reads the statement in part.
The application targets individuals who completed the KCSE examination from the year 2013 to 2022.
“This is a milestone because KMTC and KUCCPS havea common objective of enhancing access to quality higher education and training opportunities in a manner that is equitable to all Kenyans” said KUCCPS Chief Executive Officer Dr. Agnes Mercy Wahome.
Providing the KMTC courses on the KUCCPS platform will ensure equity, fairness and balanced access to the training opportunities, she added.
In addition, KUCCPS has a data base of the KCSE examination results of all the potential applicants, hence does not require applicants to provide their results.
Those interested in applying can easily access the list of available programs across the 83 KMTC campuses nationwide, along with the minimum subject requirements, through the KUCCPS Student’s Portal.
The application deadline for these courses is set for August 4, 2023.
With KMTC now part of the KUCCPS system, the Placement Service expands its reach, facilitating student placements in degree, diploma, certificate, and artisan courses in 289 public training institutions and 30 private universities throughout Kenya.
Wahome noted that the application deadline for placement in diploma programs at Primary Teacher Training Colleges has been extended to August 4, 2023. All other application guidelines remain unchanged from the previously advertised ones.
