The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has released the placement results for students wishing to join Teacher Training colleges (TTC).
In an announcement released on Wednesday, August 24th, the placement agency encouraged students to log in to the student portal on the KUCCPS website to access their placement results
“The results for placement to teacher training colleges are out. Log in to the KUCCPS student’s portal for details.” KUCCPS Stated.
On Saturday, July 15th, KUCCPS reopened its online portal for applications for placement in diploma teacher training courses.
During an educational and career guidance event held at Kangaru School in Embu, Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu addressed students and disclosed that applicants would be competing for 13,439 positions in the Diploma in Primary Teacher Education (DPTE) and Diploma in Early Childhood Teacher Education (DECTE) programs.
The minimum requirement for eligibility is a mean grade of C (plain) in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examination.
The Education CS clarified that there would be no additional subject prerequisites.
“For the second year, the placement of trainees to the 32 public teacher training colleges will be handled by the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS), which has opened its online portal for the application,” he noted.
In her address at the same event, KUCCPS Chief Executive Officer Agnes Mercy Wahome mentioned that the portal would remain open until July 28, 2023.
“This opportunity is available to qualified KCSE certificate holders, including non-Kenyan citizens who took the exam in 2022 or earlier up to the year 2000,” Wahome emphasized.
The KUCCPS boss advised students to carefully choose their subjects in Form One and Two, aligning them with the careers they aspire to pursue in the future.
