The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has reopened its portal for students to make second revision of courses and verify the success of their first course applications.
The university placement body advised the 2022 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) candidates to visit the portal and check if they had been provisionally placed in a higher learning institution.
The agency also encouraged those who had not been placed to revise their choices based on the cutoff points and their KCSE results.
KUCCPS announced that the 2022 KCSE candidates would receive SMS notifications to inform them about the success of their applications.
If applicants had previously applied but were not successful in securing their chosen courses, they were advised to reapply. However, those who had been provisionally placed in a course did not need to reapply, as stated in the announcement.
Notably, successful applicants would only be informed about the success or failure of their application, while specific details regarding the course and institution would be disclosed later.
To check the status of their application, individuals could verify through SMS notifications sent to their registered phone numbers. Alternatively, they could log into their portal and view the message posted in the application section.
For those who were not successful, they could revise their application by visiting www.students.kuccps.net and aligning their choices with their results and the cutoff points set for various courses across institutions.
KUCCPS provided previous years’ cutoff points as a reference for guidance, as this year’s cutoff points were unavailable.
Applicants are notified that the portal will remain open till June 27, 2023.
