The Media Council of Kenya (MCK), on Monday, 17 July 2023 announced paid internships geared towards providing journalism students with practical work experience before graduation and to prepare them for the job market.
According to MCK, the 3-Months internship programme will commence in February 2023 and run till April 2023.

“The Media Council of Kenya (MCK) in partnership with recognised media houses is implementing the MCK
Industrial Placement Programme for the Financial Year 2023/2024, which is geared towards providing
journalism students with practical work experience before graduation and to prepare them for the job market.” MCK’s statement read in part.
The program aims to reach out to students in their final year of study, enrolled in accredited universities or middle-level colleges.
To apply, students must submit a letter of application along with a recommendation letter from their respective higher learning institutions.
Additionally, applicants are required to provide their academic transcripts, MCK Student 2022 card, and valid registration numbers from their universities or colleges.
Eligible candidates for the program include those pursuing a degree or diploma in Journalism, Media Studies, Communications, Digital Media, or Public Relations, provided they meet the specified requirements.

Eligible candidates should submit their applications with the subject title Application for MCK Industrial Placement Programme on or before Sunday, 30th July 2023.
The council will not accept applications sent via Email.
