The National Police Service(NPS) has denounced a police officer whose TikTok video went viral on July 19, 2023
In the viral video, the police officer was reading comments sent by some of his followers.

The officer also proposed initiating a dialogue between the government and the opposition.
” Imagine everyone is saying Ruto Must go” the officer read a comment to his colleague.
What caught the attention of many Kenyans online is when the officer read out a comment from one of his followers saying, “Kindiki joined, Kindiki We Kwenda Huko”
“The attention of the National Police Service is drawn to a video clip circulating on social media, depicting an improperly dressed ‘Police Officer’ making misleading and reckless remarks.” reads part of a notice issued by NPS Wednesday.
NPS vehemently condemned the act, affirming its commitment to thoroughly investigate the issue and ensure appropriate action is taken against the officer.
“As a Disciplined Service, we wish to clarify and assure the public that the behavior portrayed in the clip is not only unacceptable but also doesn’t reflect the values of NPS.” NPS Stated.
“The National Police Service remains focused on training its Officers to the highest standards.” the statement further read.
Raila Breaks Silence
Former Prime Minister, Raila Odinga on Wednesday evening asked Azimio supporters to end the Wednesday, July 19, anti-government protest at 5 pm.
Odinga urged the protesters to rest and resume demonstrations on Thursday, July 20.
He termed day one of the protests a success, noting that the government was attentive to grievances raised.
However, Raila declined to heed the calls of religious leaders who asked him to pursue dialogue with President William Ruto instead of leading protests.
