Police in Nyamira county are investigating an incident where a Form 4 student at Kiang’inda Secondary school in Nyamira county lost his life after he was beaten to a pulp by his parents. Bivon Ogamba allegedly stole KSh 50 from his elder brother, who reported him to their parents.
Ogamba who hails from Bosamaro Village allegedly stole the money from his elder brother last weekend.
Upon finding out, his parents beat him to a pulp using a metal rod. Bedridden for a week For an entire week, Ogamba lay bedridden and in agony, the weight of his ordeal bearing heavily upon him.
Kemuma Ontiria, a neighbour, said: “Bivon was a good boy, and we are all shocked that he lost his life over KSh 30. He was a studious student who had a lot of aspirations and after he was beaten up we didn’t know how serious it was until he cried for helping to alert the neighbourhood. it is very sad.”
“The deceased was beaten thoroughly, he could not even walk. The family hid him in their house without any medication until Thursday morning when they took him to a nearby private hospital. He was pronounced dead moments after he arrived,” reported Mr Paul Makonge, Nyamira South Director of Criminal Investigations boss
it’s reported that the deceased began coughing up blood, prompting him to raise an urgent alarm. Concerned neighbours flocked to the scene, hoping to understand the dire situation that had unfolded.
Sensing the severity of the matter, Ogamba’s parents swiftly decided to rush him to the hospital.
Tragically, fate had a different plan for this troubled young man. While en route to the hospital on Thursday, 22nd June, the young man succumbed to his afflictions, leaving those who had come to his aid overwhelmed with grief
The parents and his elder brother presumed to be connected to this harrowing incident, have been apprehended by the Police.
